Large sized pneumatic tire lift trucks such as loaded container handlers range in capacity from 80,000lbs to 105,000 lbs. Designed to efficiently lift 20 foot and 40 foot fully loaded ocean containers, or refrigerated containers, loaded container handlers can then stack the containers one on top of an other.

Depending on the loaded container handlers' lift height a loaded container handler may have the ability to stack containers 3 to 5 high, or more. Top-pick loaded container handlers have an attachment instead of forks. This attachement is hydraulically expandable from 20 feet to 40 feet depending on the container's length being handled. Integral spreader bar attachments such as these have twist locks that lock down the container for handling purposes.

Large forklifts such as loaded container handlers have planetary drive axles, air brakes, and 3-speed powershift transmissions and are most commonly equipped with large displacement six cylinder diesel engines.
